Ullfrotté Woolpower under layers, mid layers and socks are produced in Östersund in Northern Sweden and are sold worldwide to professionals, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone else who needs to stay warm. All Woolpower products are constructed with Ullfrotte Original, a technically advanced material made from a combination of two thirds fine Merino wool from Australia and about one third synthetic fibre so as to achieve the greatest strength. Ullfrotté is knitted with unique terry loop stitching in order to create the optimal insulating capability. Wool has a unique ability to hold and transport moisture while keeping you warm in damp conditions. Wool is, to some extent self-cleaning, and tends not to smell bad, even after long periods of wear. Because of this, the garments do not need to be washed frequently. In addition, all garments made with Ullfrotte Original can be washed in 60 degrees Celsius, when needed. The thinner undergarments are designed to be worn directly against the skin as a moisture wicking base layer. They work best when worn closest to the body, since the material keeps the body warm, while at the same time helping to transport perspiration. The thinnest undergarments are ideal at temperatures ranging from +10 °C down to -20 °C, depending on activity. The short zipper on the Zip Turtleneck allows for ventilation, and is made of a circular knit fabric, and has no lengthwise seams. The back is longer to avoid gaps. Cuffs are sewn in. The Merino wool/polyamide fabric has a smooth outer surface and terry loops on the inside.
